Plumage care - (Egretta garzetta). I photographed this little egret cleaning up her plumage, with Nikon D300s, Sigma supertele 300-800mm, f / 8, 1/3200 sec, ISO 400. Thanks for your comments.

A delightful picture, Giangiorgio! Perfectly captured! It's like a lady in front of a mirror! I am going on pause with Photo.net, but it is impossible to leave it without a reaction! Bravo, Maestro! Sincerely, Tatiana

Hi Giangiorgio,

you have chosen a simple composition for this scene, in which this little egret is cleaning her feathers. I like this focus on a typical bird habit; you have used the beautiful light optimally for showing something that is essential for this species, without any embellishment, because it doesn't need any. Well done! Kind regards, Vincent

As usual, great capture of the moment, the egret looks like a statue on this perfectly composed photo. Complimenti, Giangiorgio! Cheers! PDE

Giangiorgio, the bird's posture must make humans jealous, since its neck appears much more flexible. As always, you captured this feature at exactly the right time. Also, the image portrays another aspect of bird anatomy that gives (most of) them the ability to stand on one leg only for comparatively longer durations. I'm quite impressed by the detail in the feathers, which clearly reveals the several patterns. In closing, I always feel privileged to view your work; this image is no exception. - - My best always, michael

So much to love about this photograph. The detail of the plumage, but also the color palette is lovely. That blue background highlights the blueness of the bird's beak beautifully. Gorgeous. -Aina

Beautiful image Giangiorgio! A difficult bird to light properly but you have succeeded! They are very similar to the Snowy Egret in the U.S.
