My initial impression was, why does she have lips like Madonna, and everything else “says” Medieval. So I did a quick Google. Wow, was I wrong! Lipstick was a sign of Witchcraft back then, and even today some in the Catholic church think it’s unGodly. Even more interesting was how the history of lipstick attitudes was like reading the history of women. So now the lips are my favorite part of the image.

Thank you Larry for taking time and looking it up, learning never ends, it adds another layer to the image.

This image is also a reminder for me that perception is shaped by what’s inside your head, or more often in my case, what’s not!
