Giving some narrative and some understanding to this image. From Remarque’s narration through the voice of a young soldier in a foreign and hostile environment this image illustrates the horrors and chaos of war that are indescribable to the home front. In todays's world we are still uncovering the brutality of wars and its crimes, I ask myself, have we changed that much since Julius Caesar time? Take care.
