Timo Hartikainen 548 Posted November 9, 2020 Thanks, I also like the background, it's almost like a painting. Link to comment
vincentoiseau 83 Posted November 9, 2020 Hi Timo, a great vintage lens photo with beautiful bokeh; I have become used to this quality of images from you. When I shot my latest upload ('blackberry sunset') I thought about the huge difference in bokeh between modern and vintage lenses and how they compare. I do not really have an opinion on which is better (that depends also on other aspects of the photo), but I definitely like the look of vintage lenses. They often have more of a character of their own which modern lenses rarely have. Very nice colors too. Kind regards, Vincent Link to comment
Timo Hartikainen 548 Posted November 10, 2020 Vincent, I agree with you about modern lenses. They may be technically almost perfect, but at the same time, the photos may sometimes look a little bit too sterile and boring. I once had a modern 135mm lens, which had about 2 times more glass elements than a basic 70's vintage 135mm lens, and it had 9 aperture blades, so I basically got very good results with it, but I guess they were too good for my taste :) Link to comment
