charlie_lucke 0 Posted October 6, 2020 Thank Laurent. I drove past this truck many times before deciding to stop one day when the light was right- high cirrostratus clouds. Link to comment
Mrcreem 141 Posted October 8, 2020 Wonderful shot, Charlie. If you add a little texture, this will look like an oil painting! Good job. All my best, Mitch Link to comment
charlie_lucke 0 Posted October 9, 2020 Thanks Mitchell. Sometimes I wish I did have the drawing talent to paint the scenes that I photograph. I agree that photographs can appear a bit flat, lacking texture. Link to comment
Mrcreem 141 Posted October 9, 2020 Hi, Charlie. I was not suggesting that the photo looked flat. I think that the photo looks great. I was noticing, though, that the rust and paint colors on the truck are so rich and thick that simply by adding some texture to your photo you can, in fact, make it look like an oil. There are several different ways to do this using Lightroom or Photo Shop, or even just by playing with lighting and pixel effects on iPhoto. If you are so inclined, you can try this out. All my best, Mitch. Link to comment
charlie_lucke 0 Posted October 9, 2020 Mitch, thank you for more explication of what you meant. I use primarily Aperture, Photoshop Elements, Gimp, Photomatix and I haven't begun to explore all the possibilities. I had an employee years ago who added acrylic paint to photographic prints and that intrigues me. I'm enjoying the conversation. Link to comment
