vincentoiseau 83 Posted September 13, 2020 Hi Michael, this photo indeed has about the same 'ingredients' as my image of the Scheveningen beach, with a composition that is different, yet similar in the sense that it divides the frame by giving the poles (the 'subject') a leading role, seemingly prompted by their placement, but in fact choosing them as a slightly scalable image component. I like the almost straight and geometrical approach to the composition. I think the image would look better if it were darker. Kind regards, Vincent Link to comment
michaellinder 16,611 Posted September 15, 2020 Thanks very much, Vincent, for your feedback. When you suggest that the image's tonality would be better if darker, are you referring to its entirety? Or is it a matter of contrast? - - My best always, michael Link to comment
vincentoiseau 83 Posted September 15, 2020 I actually meant the highlights and midtones, the shadows are okay. But it's a suggestion; it's not that I think there's something wrong with your image. It's a matter of balance, which highly depends on personal preference. I often see photos on this site that I would edit in a totally different way if they were mine and I don't mean yours. But they aren't my photos. Kind regards, Vincent Link to comment
