Hi Evgeny,

it's the composition that makes this photo stand out; the line from the right bottom corner follows the creek into the lake and the view is pushed upwards by the fir trees and along the lines of the central rock formation to the peaks lit by the early rays of sunlight. There is a lot to discover here: the still green grass, mosses and other vegetation in the foreground, the reflection of the rock in the background, the trees along the shore of the lake and a second lit peak at the right edge of the photo (that seems to be slightly competing for attention). The detail is stunning from front to back. I just wonder why the foreground is relatively light; you could have given it a bit more contrast and a darker tone, but it looks brightened up. Kind regards, Vincent

Hello, Vincent.

Your critique is always expected and very appreciated for its constructive and honest professional opinion. I admit, I could lighten up a little too much foreground. I should notice, the shrubs in this particular spot are protected from strong winds – they are embraced by uneven terrain. Leaves still have stronger "summer" colors. Some of them noticeably have a lighter tone. Honestly, I am not 100% happy with the foreground as with not the complete look of the right side of the picture. Simply because I do not have the rest being photographed. As you noticed, there are already so many details in this frame, if I included another mountain, this would make it overloaded. This a pano with stitched several vertical shots. This allows me to play with objects I can include in my composition. I will post another one, which to my mind, shows better the charm of this place.
