charo 3 Posted July 14, 2020 All the photos in the series are very good, Tm J. I particularly like this one, because of the original color, and the moment captured. Kind Regards, Rosario. Link to comment
tm_j 30 Posted July 14, 2020 Muchas Gracias Rosario! Always nice to hear from you. Greetings from SoCal! I wear flip flops to wade in the water so I can get shot like this :-) ... they move very fast and avoid me if they see me. So, I also have to sort of hiding in the bushes to shoot them Link to comment
vincentoiseau 83 Posted July 15, 2020 Hi TmJ, what a wonderful photo! As a bird photographer I know how rare this kind of opportunity is, and you totally seized it. Composition, colors, and maybe even eye contact. Kind regards, Vincent Link to comment
tm_j 30 Posted July 16, 2020 Thanks Vicent! A lot of time, their behavior are predictable (for a while) but in general it's a dynamic situation since they go where their food sources are at and we have to take notice to get the shot. I was staking out the creek for a couple week to get this since sometimes they come, sometimes they .. don't show up at all. If you view large you can see the eye of the bird. Generally, I delete any bird shot that does not show the eye since to me a bird image without the eye with catch light seems dead. Link to comment
