mikemorrell 3,209 Posted June 21, 2020 I like the subtle nuances in tone and color in this photo. The green background makes the subject stand out well. In general, the DOF is fine in blurring the background. If I was to nitpick, I'd say that at the front and back of the flower, the focus is 'soft' while the middle is sharp. An aperture of 9.9 should be plenty to get the whole flower sharp. So I don't have any explanations or suggestions. It's worth think about what distance you were to the flower when you took the photo. And what l;ens you were using, Link to comment
gregverena 343 Posted June 21, 2020 Hi Mike- thanks for your input and time. The exif info on PN is unfortunately, never accurate- it always says 9.9, no matter what- these shots are usually at 16 with my 70-300 sony lens- I believe there was some wind this day, but hoped to be ok with the bright sun and high shutter speed. Nit pik away! Link to comment
Dave Lipchen 439 Posted June 24, 2020 Great Capture, I find red roses are very hard to get the saturation right on but you did.... Link to comment
gregverena 343 Posted June 24, 2020 Dave- thanks- you are right about the red= fortunately, the Sony is pretty good about it. Link to comment
