White stork

The white stork (Ciconia ciconia) has influenced human culture and folklore including the myth of bringing babies to new parents. This ancient legend was popularized by an H. C. Andersen tale entitled ‘The Storks’. The white stork is the national bird of Lithuania and Belarus. It is a popular motif on postage stamps and is featured on more than 120 stamps issued by over 60 countries.
