The very first Yom Hashoah - the Day of Memory- was in 1949. As of that time, only four years had elapsed since the carrying out of the Final Solution - the systematic murder of the entire Jewish population of Europe, had ended. Jews around the world commemorated Yom Hashoah most recently at sundown on April 20, 2020. I waited a week to decide on the most suitable way for me and decided on a photograph - a collage consisting of the outside of a memorial candle picturing victims and the flame in the candle's interior. I may write a poem as well. In the meantime, I appreciate your viewing the image and, should you decide to do so, your comments. - - michael
