Mirror. These flamingos (Phoenicopterus ruber) were photographed at dawn, from the top of a hill overlooking the lagoon, as they settle the surface of the water in search of food with their beaks. The perfect reflection is due to a day with very calm water. The shooting distance is about 1 Km. Nikon D200, Sigma supertele 300-800mm, f / 5,6, 1/ 400sec, ISO 100. Thanks for your comments

this mirror image is a most appealing abstraction of nature. There is only the surface of the water, reflecting an early morning sun and defined by the dark reflections of the foraging flamingos and poles in the water. Very well done! Kind regards, Vincent

Giangiorgio, I started reading some of the comments already posted and then I decided to throw caution to the wind. If I duplicate any of them, it will be purely accidental. First, the shapes - there's a myriad of them, including a variety of shapes created by the mirror images of the birds per se. Secondly, the asymmetry as a whole is much more interesting than if you had created the image with perfect or even partial) symmetry in mind. Finally, the color palette of black and gold exclusively makes for dramatic contrast which can't help by grab a viewer's attention. Excellent abstract work! - - My best always, michael - - Ciao!
