The difference between the Black-necked Stilt & American Avocet in mating behaviour is that the BNS are like the '2 minutes man' ... the foreplay is so short that many times I barely notice that they are going to make and .... it's over. The Avocet, on the other hand, has very long foreplay and give plenty of time to run, position to shoot. Link to comment
