Flamingos -Wedding dance - (Phoenicopterus ruber) .

Before nesting, flamingos perform these characteristic wedding parades with many figures, including this one in which they synchronize the openings of the wings with the neck well erect and the chest out. Nikon D300s, Sigma supertele 300-800mm, f / 10, 1 / 500sec, ISO200. Thanks for your comments

Marvelous scene and picture, Giangiorgio! Incredible synchronization of birds actions , as in flight! If humanity could thus move towards a noble goal, it would achieve much more. Excellent done! Bravo! Sincerely, Tatiana

Hi Giangiorgio,

what a glorious photo of this flamingo ritual! You have captured the simultaneous movements of these graceful birds very effectively; this image certainly shows avian behavior at its most interesting. Somehow it reminds me of an 18th century dance at the palaces of the noble and rich. Focus is excellent, the colors are nice and deep. Very well done. Kind regards, Vincent

Giangiorgio, in a BBC Earth video, I first was treated to the manner in which flamingos congregate and move. This image reiterates to me in an artistic way how they are dancing to a well choreographed ballet or possibly how they are soldiers marching in a close-order drill. It s colors are remarkably vivid and its detail is almost microscopic in size, in a sense, pointillistic. I never tire of taking in everything images like this have offer, and I am grateful to you for that. - - My best always, michael - - Ciao!
