Tatiana and Giangiorgio - - Thanks so much for your remarks. I previously posted another photo of this full scale model of ancient Jerusalem, but I like this one much better. It displays the Second Temple, including its boundary walls, one of which survived the Temple's destruction and Israel's survival by Romans, Turks, Crusaders, etc. That wall is referred to as the Western Wall - in transliterated Hebrew, the Kotel. It also shows Herod's palace sharing a wall with the Temple compound.

Michael, from your reply to Tatiana and Giangiorgio I understood that this is a model of the ancient Jerusalem from the time of Herod and represents mainly the second temple which he built. Good to read comments for I was about to ask is it the temple of Solomon or Herod presented here! The picture looks great! My sincere compliments! PDE
