michaellinder 16,611 Posted March 21, 2020 Shot in Jerusalem . . . During my recent trip to Israel, I spent a lot of time in the Old City. It helped to refresh and renew my faith. Thanks for your views and comments. Link to comment

vincentoiseau 83 Posted March 23, 2020 Hi Michael, good to see a photo of yours here again. The street sene you present is undoubtedly from an old place, and judging from the appaearances of the two people in the photo this could be Jerusalem (I know it is). The man traditionally in black garment with the hat and coat, the woman very worldly with a cigarette. This says someting about this society I guess, although at first view it isn't that noticeable. You have framed these two people beautifully in this old street. Kind regards, Vincent Link to comment
michaellinder 16,611 Posted March 24, 2020 Tatiana, I'm so happy you found this image worthy of commenting. Having returned a week ago, I have one more week of self-quarantine. - - My best always, michael Link to comment
michaellinder 16,611 Posted March 24, 2020 Vincent, your comments are both welcome and astute. Indeed, the man walking away is ultraorthodox. I would say that the woman walking towards me shares that description, except that she is not wearing any head covering. I'm glad you like the framing, but what attracted me to the scene equally as much were the stones. - - My best always, michael Link to comment
Giangiorgio Crisponi 425 Posted March 25, 2020 Michael a nice street photo of your dear Jerusalem, the black and white bring out the texture of the walls and pavement. Please follow the quarantine, surely you will not have time to get bored by rearranging the photos of your recent trip. ciao Giangiorgio Link to comment
michaellinder 16,611 Posted March 25, 2020 Giangiorgio, as always, I am grateful for your kind words. I could write volumes about how I feel about Jerusalem and Israel, but - for now - I will agree with your observation about the myriad of images I will be reviewing and organizing. I also am sorry about the state of your country, but you must know that Italy's leadership has honesty and integrity that is head and shoulders above the USA's. There have been times I've felt ashamed of the USA and this is one of them. Please take good care of yourself, my friend. - - My best always, michael - - Ciao! Link to comment
Pierre Dumas 231 Posted March 27, 2020 B&W well chosen, because it somehow emphasizes the old and we all like rather the old parts of the cities, especially in Jerusalem, city with such an importance for the believers from around the world. Very nice composition and impression of the old! My sincere compliments, Michael! PDE Link to comment
