A fine detail of grain elevator silo's ladder.

I never suspected that the subject is a grain silo until I read the title. Assuming I had no idea as to the nature of the structure, what I see is a fine exercise in simplicity, which the monochrome treatment amplifies. The texture and detail also are compelling.

Detail? The appeal to me is quite different, more from the lack of detail and the subsequent reduction to an observation of abstract shape and line, obtained by tossing texture and color so they don't distract from the essence.

Wayne, there actually is detail, especially in the darker areas, which also reveal texture. Depress clutch, shift gears - - I definitely understand and agree with your take on the image.
