michaellinder 16,611 Posted October 1, 2019 It seems to me, Jack, that you may have dedicated this image, figuratively of course, to those people who require more than one set of directions. The two pylons with their bold red and bright white appearance stand out and present themselves as alien - in a quite a positive sense - to the rest of the image. The bricks are, perhaps hypnotically, interesting in their own right, offering both pattern and texture. Their pattern is quite different from that of the driveway, and they furnish texture, along with the underside of the overhang. Finally, the presence of vividly green vegetation reminds me that there still are living things in the midst of ever-growing urban sprawl. Another favorite. Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted October 1, 2019 Thanks, Michael; I thought this one - though no masterpiece - was pretty good. As you could probably guess, I was a little discouraged with the response, limited as it was to your single excellent comment which I think summed up the picture very well. I've grown more and more disappointed with the direction of PN and like many of the old regulars, spend less time here than I used to. I keep hoping that things will change but now believe we have passed the tipping point. Even the forum section seems to have lost energy and as for looking for any help or even reply from management, forget it. Link to comment
Zbigniew Tyburczy - ZT 6 Posted October 2, 2019 Jack,Despite lack of human presence ( I guess everybody's in their apartments/or working) and emptiness, the photo is interesting and intriguing.Well organized neighborhood .....and really well composed photo. I like Michael's comment, especially last sentence -green,,,Regards,ZT, Link to comment
DGorinstein 20 Posted October 2, 2019 This is the back-to-back image I was referring to in my previous comment. The elements are so clear. The message is so even clearer. And the whole arrangement so clean and neat. A delight to watch. DG Link to comment

Jack McRitchie 150 Posted October 4, 2019 ZT, Daniel - Thanks for the welcome comments on this picture. I looked at the two parking signs as casual observers trying to figure out the interlocking geometrics of this building. It's a subtle but unspectacular picture that flies under the radar of the general viewer but one that I think will prove to have staying power, at least with me. Link to comment
Wayne Sadler 555 Posted October 7, 2019 An "unassuming" subject made art by the brilliance of the artist's arrangement of elements and unification of patterns. Brilliant work, Jack. Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted October 7, 2019 Thanks, Wayne. "Unassuming", I like the choice of words. Look for its use in my future comments. Link to comment
