Giangiorgio Crisponi 451 Posted September 20, 2019 These flamingos (Phoenicopterus ruber) were photographed in the warm light of sunset as they walk among the avocets (Recurvirostra avosetta). Nikon D500, Sigma supertele 300-800 mm f, 5.6, 1/2500 sec, ISO 250. Thanks for your comments Link to comment

michaellinder 16,611 Posted September 22, 2019 Giangiorgio, because I have to leave my house soon, I chose this image to review. Both images reflect your love of nature and your artistry in photographing it. The photograph gives viewers a variety of wading birds. Their relative size is a strong element as is their respective colors. What initially pulled me in, though, was the lone avocet with its wings spread, as if it is about to launch itself into the air. - - My best always, michael - - Ciao! Link to comment
vincentoiseau 83 Posted September 22, 2019 Hi Giangiorgio, a wonderful composition that features two species of birds with very unusual beaks, one big, bulky and pointed downward, the other very pointed and curved upwards. The proportions in this image are very much to my liking, as well as the deep colors. Very well done, GG! Link to comment

Giangiorgio Crisponi 451 Posted September 23, 2019 Thanks Vincent for the interesting observation, in fact the curvature of the beak reveals their way of eating, the avocet furrows with the beak the surface of the water, the flamingo filters with the beak the Artemia salina and algae on the muddy bottom Link to comment
