Very surreal, Michael. It feels like we are suspended in space as this painting floats by, a visitor from another dimension. Who knows what's to follow? I think this one is particularly successful.

Jack, first an admission . . . This photo is a variation on a plain white wall which included the framed picture and 3 sets of eyelashes. I found it in my optometrist's office. I've seen plenty of surreal photographs to know that I'm not well versed in that style, so I was very happy about how this turned out. I need to practice on techniques that involve moving objects around or adding/deleting objects before I can claim any proficiency with surrealism. Thanks so much for your thoughtful comments and thinking the image deserved deserved to be placed wit your other favorites. - - My best, michael

Hi Michael,

'surrealism' is not only the name of a movement in the history of art, but also the mindset of allocating a sense of 'higher realism' to an expression in the form of a text, an image etc. In that latter sense of the word this photo certainly is surrealistic; it aims to provoke a sense of realism to an altered view of reality that I think achieves its goal. I am thrilled by this view of a reality largely unknown to me, but that is strangely fascinating. Kind regards, Vincent

Vincent, I am thrilled that this image fascinated you (as it did me). If I showed you the original image, and described the location were I shot it, you'd be quite surprised. - - My best always, michael
