michaellinder 16,611 Posted September 17, 2019 Jack, what I like the most about your landscape is that it's honest and unpretentious, and also that - like this photo - it usually has an implied human presence. Of course, this photo doesn't attempt to make more of the scene than otherwise required. It also includes a bicycle which may imply the presence of at least one person more so than usual. At first, I thought I was looking at a very weirds structure in the top right until I took a closer look. It's an unremarkable building that's been taken over by ivy or a similar plant. patrickcompagnucci 30 Posted September 17, 2019 Great capture Jack. Comp, tones, sky, and that building that looks like a brontosaurus in the background, all right on. Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted September 17, 2019 Michael, Patrick - Thanks you guys for your comments on this picture. I pass by this building often but this day I actually noticed how weirdly it had become overgrown. The bicycle was a lucky addition and necessary I think to the picture. Patrick, you're right. I should have titled this Jurassic Park. Link to comment
vincentoiseau 83 Posted September 19, 2019 Hi Jack, a marvelous composition, with a strangely overgrown building against a cloudy sky full of character. The abandoned bike against the fence certainly adds interest, as if there's a story to this image that explains it all. I like the diverging lines, the contrast and the detail. Kind regards, Vincent Link to comment
