Guest Guest Posted September 11, 2019 Seems to be a bit on the shy side? But considering the enormous locks on the door, it might just be (local) prudence? Link to comment
frigo 4,155 Posted September 11, 2019 Jack...She's pointing at ''specials'' in the just delivered flyer.....maybe cameras? The double locks on that door handle also got my attention....Good shot!Salutations-Laurent Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted September 11, 2019 Phillip, Laurent - When I came out of my house the other day I saw the head of my neighbor peeking out of her door and thought it odd. I asked her what she was doing and she said she had found a beetle in her apartment and was ushering it out the door. In the picture she's pointing to the bug which is just visible as a tiny black spot. She really is a kindly soul. Thanks for the comments. Regards, Jack. (P.s. all the apartments in the building have these same double locks. For such a safe country, The Japanese always sense danger lurking just around the corner.) Link to comment
samstevens 7,276 Posted September 12, 2019 You do know just how to take a picture. Though she’s pointing to the bug, everything about the photo is pointing to her. Link to comment
vincentoiseau 83 Posted September 13, 2019 Hi Jack, this is a real-life photo that shows an event that is probably totally irrelevant to most people, but all the more interesting to those who are willing to look beyond 'cool' or 'grand'. Your neighbour looks shy, almost apologetic for what she's doing. I really like the ambiance you have portrayed here, the double locks being a monstruous measure against an almost virtual enemy and the unbelievably tidy corridor. Kind regards, Vincent Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted September 15, 2019 Bernardo, Sam, Vincent - Thanks for the comments on this picture. Much appreciated. Vincent, I couldn`t agree with your remarks more. We live in an age of instant gratification, splash and dazzle. No one has time for subtlety anymore and you can say the same thing for wit. Maybe that`s why I`m attracted to the great photographers of the early and mid 20th Century when the pace was a lot slower and fame wasn`t an overnight Ferris wheel ride. Link to comment
