This critter is an invasive species that found its way to southern Florida by way of Texas, having originated in South America. (I obtain these facts from the Internet.) I do know from experience that the toad's back includes large sacs of poison. Although not harmful people unless someone who has touched the poison and has touched his/her eyes or mouth, it can be deadly to smaller animals. For you taxonomy freaks, its current Latin classification is Rhinella Marina ( Previously, Bufo Marinus).
