FranzWeber 368 Posted September 2, 2019 Coin. Made in Germany 1980. Next I will take photographs of my 5.000 stamps. If you think I'm a Student of Mr. and Mrs. Becher, Düsseldorf because I do that - oh no. I'm a Student of Miss Becherovka, Czechoslovakia. Link to comment
paul_d._scharpf 121 Posted September 4, 2019 This coin could tell us a long story. Reminds me of "the good old times" :-). Best regards, Paul Link to comment
FranzWeber 368 Posted September 4, 2019 Paul, really "good old times" with the DM. Germany paid with a very bad bad exchange rate for the Euro. All goods got expensive in Germany. Best regards, Franz Link to comment
vincentoiseau 83 Posted September 6, 2019 Hi Franz, that's exactly the sentiment your photo evoked when I saw it and you seem to confirm that here; Germany wasn't the only country that paid dearly for the transition to the euro. Is that why the focus is on the top of the coin where it says 'D'? I like your message! Kind regards, Vincent Link to comment
FranzWeber 368 Posted September 6, 2019 Hallo Vincent, thank you for your comment. The letters on german coins show where the coin was made. The "D" means that the coin was made in Munich (Bayerisches Hauptmünzamt, München). A is Berlin, F=Stuttgart, G=Karlsruhe, J=Hamburg. Best regards, Franz Link to comment
