Jack McRitchie 150 Posted May 7, 2019 The afternoon shadows and the absent child add a note of poignancy to this picture. Your scooter should hook up with my tricycle; I think they'd enjoy each other's company. Link to comment
Ken Ratcliffe 103,472 Posted May 7, 2019 Hi Jack, I've just viewed your tricycle image, yes there are uncanny similarities with the two images the two toys could have been purchased in the same shop. In my defence I did shoot mine in July 2018 and I've only just posted on PN, any resemblance to your image is purely coincidental. Thank you for your visit and comment. Best regards Ken. michaellinder 16,611 Posted May 10, 2019 Ken, how I wish I could get around on a three-wheeled scooter! My balance, or increasing lack thereof, and other infirmities prevent using a standard one. In my humble, although the rider is absent from the scene, he/she is not far away and is ready to hop back on the scooter to continue his/her adventures. Although I understand how Jack found poignancy, and Holger found a bit of sadness in the image, I see the solitary scooter just as evidence of a child's presence. Even if he/she doesn't board it again soon, it's so typical of younger children to leave stuff on driveways, sidewalks, porches - - in short, anywhere it doesn't belong. - - My best, michael Link to comment
Ken Ratcliffe 103,472 Posted May 10, 2019 Michael, your comments are always so interesting and very welcome. I took this in a public park where the local cafe loan out toys for children to play with whilst mum has a coffee. The toys are abandoned anywhere in the park (no child with this one) waiting for the cafe owner to collect them at the end of the day. Best regards Ken Link to comment
