Close Encounter (Title idea from Peter Daalder)
This goldfish was saved from the jaws of piranhas at a pet store when he was seen swimming nervously knowing he was about to be lunch. The store clerk kindly netted him out and sold him for $0.10, and now he's happy being a big fish in a small pond feeding on his favorite food - live mosquito larvae.
So what to do when all one could get were common aquarium pictures, and at best, images barely adequate to serve as illustrations? And those darn little mosquito larvae are even worse, never holding still enough for a decent portrait. Well, the idea of creating a composite came to me while visiting two of my favorite artists: Blue Man Group and My Pet Skeleton, and here's the result.
