My type of photo, Michael, the world (or at least part of it) turned upside down. I think one of the great battles the creative photographer must fight is to get past his programmed view of things. The fact that we mistake programmed perception for reality is a serious problem for the photographer who wants to capture the world anew. I believe we have to actually call forth new ways of seeing, of defining things visually and you can't do that in default mode. Any time you go against the habitual it requires both faith (that you can call forth the image) and and unbending intent. I really do wish there was more discussion of the act of seeing on PN rather than long-winded, often too personal discussions on things like the virtues and dangers of AI. Who cares what a machine can see; I'm far more interested in what and how I see.

Jack, you are the philosopher king! As I've previously noted, perhaps more than once, you have taught me that nonconformity when it comes to the choice of subjects and/or how to photograph them , is a desirable goal.
