Although I have a personal bias towards BW, from the two images you present, this one in color shows the landscape to be more impressive, rugged and forbidding. It blends so nicely into your wonderful portfolio of astronomical photos. DG

Daniel, thank you for your comments. I likewise have a preference for BW landscapes, but the colors in this scene are so powerful and surprising that I had to offer a version that shows them.
