Giangiorgio Crisponi 454 Posted March 17, 2019 A very beautiful image, the subject stand out very clear and sharp from the dark background, surely you used a very fast time for fear that he would run away, ciao Giangiorgio Link to comment
tai 3 Posted March 17, 2019 Beautiful snail, Pierre! The leaf looks like a leaf of poplar or birch. I like these frames, colors, shapes, lights, details ... Good on a black background. Congratulations! Sincerely, Tatiana Link to comment

frigo 4,155 Posted March 18, 2019 Pierre...Good shot of the ''speedy'' little guy;the blacked-out background works well here.In my stuff,I have a shot ot this slug's canadian cousin set on a maple leaf!Salutations-Laurent Link to comment
Pierre Dumas 261 Posted March 18, 2019 I have three or four of them "speedy" competing with bullets on one of my masterpieces, mon ami! Merci beaucoup, monsieur Frigault! PDE Link to comment

michaellinder 16,611 Posted March 19, 2019 At first I thought the snail might be sunbathing, but I changed my mind. Either it's hungry and is searching for food or it's displaying the amazing pattern on its back to attract a mate. The deep red on its shell might help in that regard. Also, I really like the leaf's serrated border. Well done, PDE. -- My best always, michael Link to comment
Pierre Dumas 261 Posted March 20, 2019 That's exactly what I don't like, the bad cut border of the leaf, Michael! Thank you for your kind support! PDE Link to comment
michaellinder 16,611 Posted March 20, 2019 PDE, for whatever it's worth, the reason I like the serrated edge is how it contrasts with other, smooth edges, in the image (the snail's shell, for example). Link to comment
Pierre Dumas 261 Posted March 20, 2019 OK, I understand, Michael! Thank you again! PDE Link to comment
