Pierre, I've been staring at this image for quite a while now. It immediately grabbed my attention due to a number of reasons: the predominance of highlights and midtones, the contrast in sharpness between the tombstones and everything else, and - best of all - the background of the lobby appearing open to the space that lies behind it. This is simply, in no other words, extraordinary - a museum piece. I must create a museum out of all of your photos I've favorited, including this one. - - My best always, michael

Thank you, Bruegel, Michael, Stephanie and Franz! Herr Weber, you could go there very easy, just you have to wait for invitation! Cheers to that! PDE

If Rush puts out another album; this shot should get the cover! To me it represents the functional compartmentalizing of youth maturing on this earth and the social pressures prescribing the purpose they should serve. Perhaps pointing them to their ultimate destiny of a grave after service; as opposed to freedom they might enjoy if given some control of their own destiny. Blah blah, I like the forward pointing shadows

too!

That's the lobby of Heaven, Tatiana! And the graves are Roman! Their owners are not allowed to get in! That was the idea! Cvlpa Romana! PDE

I really love this presentation of the "Lobby of Heaven". It's hard to stop starring at it. The front stone has such a strong presence that it mystifies you. The one in the back looks like its protecting the pass zone. Wonderful lighting and contrast between the stones and the clouds. Very ingenious, Pierre. Have a great day, Paul.
