The Tree of Life

A haunting, delicate, beautiful change of pace, Jack. This image's atmosphere encourages me to travel to a Zen monastery, at which I can use scenes like this to set myself free.

this is a wonderful image. The green leaves at the bottom seem to be connected to the dead leaves at the top just by cracks in the wood of the fence and decolorization, virtually foming some kind of treetrunk. The compositional balance is great and I even like the way you framed this photo; I'm not a big fan of frames in online photos, but this one really works. The yellow spot on one of the green leaves might have been left untouched intentionally, but I find it mildly distracting. Kind regards, Vincent

Mesmerizing textures

To me a good photograph takes elements from the 'real' world, transforms, combines, merges or in any other way mashes them up and voilà from this process something new and unique emerges. You've definitely achieved this here and I'd second Michael that this photo invites meditation.

From the unexpected response, for a moment I was transported back to the good old days when community response was always as lively as this. p.s.: Vincent, thanks for the observation about the yellow spot on the leaf. In a picture like this, it should have been removed.

Plays good tricks on the eyes! At first glance I was convinced that I saw a tree with its trunk rising upward and it branches and leaves hanging from it. But no! Goes well in hand with that many believe life is just a hallucination and an advanced hologram.

Simple in form and at same time sophisticated, excellent metaphor, leaves symbol of life and death, wall as man's vanity, everything passes .....

Phillip, Jacek, Zbigniew, Mari - Belated thanks for your comments on this picture. This is one of the few pictures where I absolutely knew where I was going from the beginning. I know that sounds like a very odd thing to say but usually my final vision coalesces sometime after I shoot the picture.

Jack, I have no idea how I missed this image. The Tree of Life is a religious symbol in Judaism, For that reason primarily, I was immediately attracted to the image's simple, yet radiant, beauty.
