Michael...You are absolutely right and this is particularly true for the BJ which really puffs up to keep its body warm with a thick down layer.What you see here is not really that winter coat as I assume the birds as we all here got surprised by the sudden/early arrival of winter....we went from +10C to -20c almost overnight a few days ago with very strong winds,100kph+++.I caught this guy with its side to the wind which ruffled its feathers while it was at the feeder in front of the kitchen window;this was taken through double glass storm window and back-lighting so I tweaked to the max to get the nice fluff.Glad you like how it turned out!Merci et salutations-Laurent

Tony...Thank you.Temperatures have now stabilized and gone normal,around -5C day/-8C night but we are still hit by strong winds and power outages,does not stop the birds at the feeder though.Salutations-Laurent
