Expressive picture, Pierre, I feel sorry for him! I think he grieves elsewhere, and you have virtually moved him to this beautiful cold night landscape. Probably, I saw this character in your gallery in the "Displaced" version. I hope this story ended with reconciliation. Very well done, Congratulations! Sincerely, Tatiana

Pierre....Never a good time to be evicted and particularly on a cold night....but that seems to be the least of his preoccupations.Sad situation well highlighted in an excellent image.Sympathy to the man and bravo to you my friend!Salutations-Laurent

Hi Pierre,

My detailed appreciation of this photo got lost in the browser. The photo is very different to other photos in your portfolio and I love it. The color makes the man stand out from the background and his expression speaks for itself. He's in day clothes on a cold night. The details (Adidas tracksuit + gold watch) suggest 'better times'. The house with smoke suggests a "home".

IHMO, this is a wonderful photo in which everything comes together to tell a story. More importantly, it leaves the viewer with the (unanswered) questions: what is this story? what happened? what happens next?

All in all a very powerful image. Congrats!

Mike

Again? At least it is a nice big pillow and the socks look warm and it is not snowing at the moment. Always look at the bright side of life! ;-)

Welcome and thank you, Tatiana, Andrew, Laurent, Mike and Philip! Here's the story: After a long time together, his wife, a cleaning woman whom he in time took all over the world with his money and he even bought a house on her name, kicked him out of HER house and he ended in the psychiatric clinic!

Another superb shot. And a shot with a "story" to go with it. Always a plus.

"There but for the grace of god go I" comes to mind. Just sad to see this!
