Laurent, I don't see this woman as sad at all. To me, her look is that of dignity and seriousness. She deserves to be serious given her age and the vicissitudes of life she's faced. Yet, with her eyes looking to the side where you and your camera possibly were located, she displays a great deal of dignity. This is simply a magnificent street portrait. Michael...Thank you for your insight on this image and the kind lady who so graciously agreed to the shot.Indonesians are so obliging and I made a point of shooting only when I perceived an acknowledgement which was the norm as in all my time in that country,I received but a few refusals which I respected but still remember the shots I could have had...but that's how it is.This image,I uploaded some time ago but on reviewing,I thought I could improve and ended up with this which I feel better but the quality is still that of a scan off a small print.Glad you like enough to save in your Favorites...thank you!Salutations-Laurent
