Modern strobe light has taken over duty from the Fresnel lense atop the Miscou Lighthouse!Salutations-Laurent

Great colour contrasts, nicely seen and composed.

Alas, current western society has little respect for lighthouses and lighthouse keepers. This image, to me, is not so much about the strobe and the structure on which it's mounted, but rather about the ocean and the sort of shoreline we don't have in southeast Florida. I'm enchanted by the b&w rendering of those natural elements. Bravo, Laurent! - - My best, michael

Michael...Thank you for the kind observation.This lighthouse has a rich history and it served many generations of fishermen in this area.Nowadays,it is more of a monument than a functional navigational aid even with its added modern strobe light which is a last resort guidance in case the GPS on the modern boats fail.Climbing to the top of the tall structure is always exciting even for one doing it regularly as it gives a priceless view on the virgin coastline but also inland on the surrounding peat moss marsh now aboding its bright red autumn dress(photo coming).It is a time of the year when the visitors depart promising to come back next year for sure leaving the island's beaches deserted except for a few hard nose bass fishermen and very few image seekers like yours truly to enjoy/snap the undisturbed nature of this still very well kept secret of a good spot.Salutations-Laurent
