Greg & Verena...Herring fishing is quite a ride for the herring but also for those fishermen venturing out at night for the dangerous activity. After being captured in the huge net,the herring is stocked in the hulls and once at wharf, the hulls are flooded and these huge pumps suck them out and a conveyor system dumps them into carrying bins, topped with crushed ice and trucked to the fish plants.Herring is then ''milked'' of their roe for the Asian market and the fish is then transformed for human consumption, for bait(lobster) and the balance is used for fish meal(animal food) and fertilizer. That is the chain in a nut shell!U-tube has some great videos of herring fishing if you take a look.Salutations-Laurent

Laurent, I love your work with wide angle lenses and your knack for bending the images. Just curious, what is your "go to" lens? Is it 16mm? Great job!! All my best, Mitch

Mitch...My ''bread & butter'' lense is a Sigma 10-20mm attached quasi-permanently to a Dx format body;I use almost exclusively the 10mm end=15mm FX as you detected.Attached also almost permanently to this lense is a circ polarizer which on top of the noticable pull of the 10mm enhances the skies at the expense of some banding when turned up..Glad you like how some of my stuff turns out!Merci et salutations-Laurent

Yes, I like your work very much. You were the inspiration behind my Eifel shot using my Canon 16-35mm. Take a look and let me know what you think! All my best, Mitch
