Nice shot Andrew. I've been through plenty of storms having grown up in Oklahoma, but I've never been in one in a desert setting. It looks like a lot of dust is getting picked up and blown in the background. I would venture to guess that for you and your model this could have been rather uncomfortable.

Hi Tony, Thank you very much for your visit and compliments. You are right, it was very uncomfortable and painful being sandblasted by a very fine grain sand! Especially when the sand was getting into the eyes. You could see strikes of rain in the distance, but it was so dry that it evaporated before reaching the ground. Next day was absolutely perfect with crystal clear sky and super clear air. Not a common since there is usually some dust in the air making distant mountain look a little foggy.

A magical atmosphere, I like the contrast between the upper half with cold colors and the lower half with warm tones. the human figure stands out clearly in this desert land, ciao Giangiorgio

Hi Giangiorgio thank you very much for your visit and compliments. I am glad you like it. The light was truly magical. Late afternoon stormy weather. Such storms are rare especially in may.

Great shot, Andrew! This photo caused me to associate with painting. Magnificent landscape, composition, colors. Suitable for biblical story. I guess the image can be stronger without the presence of your beauty. Bravo! Sincerely, Tatiana

Beautiful work, I guess I have seldom seen a view with extremely two contradicting whether conditions like this, the color saturation have added to the image.

Hi Saad , thank you very much for your visit and compliments. It was indeed a unique moment with sun braking through the dens clouds, providing illumination of the sand. I used Lightroom CC to enhance the effect.
