gregverena 343 Posted August 6, 2018 Seems like he's trying to "will" you to feed him! You might find this article interesting. https://www.sciencenews.org/article/red-fox-dna-genome-domestication Link to comment
frigo 4,155 Posted August 7, 2018 Greg & Verena...Yes,he's cute and knows exactly how to get me into a donation mood;he's also got Monique on his supply line.We share out time between here and the cottage(very near),so I come back to the house for our 6h30 treat& chat session and most mornings,he is waiting in about how you see in this photo;if I get there first,I call out his name and we are in business within 5 minutes.I took a look at the article and I think I am a long way from cuddling Renardo the way David Bassett is with Viktor.....but we are negociating!Salutations-Laurent Link to comment
Mrcreem 141 Posted August 7, 2018 OK, so by now you must tell us....who is Renardo??? Who its this little fox that has entered our life? Link to comment
frigo 4,155 Posted August 8, 2018 Mitch...He is quite endearing, isn't he...and that is why I am sharing the pleasure of our now daily encounters. We first saw Renardo back in March when the snow was still piled up a meter deep;he was obviously hungry and was eating away at the bread we had put out for our resident crows so we gave him some hot dog sausages which he ate but also buried some in the snow to come back the next morning. After that,he would return at weekly intervals for the same scenario. We were away for almost a month, but when we returned he showed up again and his weekly visits became more frequent and now,he is at the door every morning for our chat/ treats /photos session. He has become familiar with my wife and I and we do not feed him but just treats as he has a family to feed(female + 2 pups) and he will come and show us his preys(squirrels mice etc).If he's not waiting in the morning,he will come when we call his name. He's become a good friend and I am glad to share the good poses he gives me.Salutations-Laurent Link to comment
