frigo 4,155 Posted July 22, 2018 Jack..A view usually reserved to the ''things'' being dropped in the basket, much like the lobster view of the entry loop to the trap which I took some time back,I like!Salutations=Laurent Link to comment
hstelljes 41 Posted July 22, 2018 It's original. I think the composition is what makes this work, the basket is squared up and the yellow cables are in step with the yellow on the ground. Great eye Jack...................................BR, Holger Link to comment
DGorinstein 20 Posted July 24, 2018 A flight over the coocoo's nest! Unmistakably your, it pops right out of the thumbnails. Brilliant "aerial" view of the bike's basket, but it could also be a hollowed brain from where all order has flown out, leaving a tangled mess of ideas conflicting with each other to decide how to get out and follow the lucky, witty, bright ideas that left the nest when it was the right time to flee! The whole "vessel" itself seems to start deviating from the straight line which supposedly must have continued following, completing a total chaos of "a" mind. The color contrast you have been mixing in your recent work is just superb, sharp and very clearly defined. Masterfully mind boggling and intellectually challenging as always. Best regards. tai 3 Posted July 26, 2018 Congratulations on Photo of the Day, Jack! A remarkably captured multi-layered composition with such different shapes and textures. Bravo! Sincerely, Tatiana P.S. I want to make you laugh. When I first saw the miniature of this image, I did not understand what it is. The first association was - "hybrid spiral for grilling and Faraday cage". Link to comment
michaellinder 16,611 Posted July 28, 2018 Jack, I distinctly remember two previous images involving bicycle baskets. This one is radically different due to its composition and perspective. As a result, I'm able to conjure up an interpretation of sorts. The blue cord reminds me of rope used in conjunction with lobster traps; yet, the image's world is one of dry land. So this gizmo is a trap. My guess is the yellow cables attach to a mechanism which allows the trap's operator to close it after snaring an unwitting and perhaps uncooperative photographic subject. Two elements which make this image work so well are: (1) the similarity of color between the cables and the remaining patches of an old stripe on the street; and (2) the diagonals on the street viewed from the contrasting position of the basket. Another McRitchie creation that's going into my faves! Link to comment
wolfgangarnold 142 Posted December 11, 2018 I'm trapped in the bicycle basket - the strict downwards-wideangle perspective pulls me into the photo and I'm sure, Michael's guess that the yellow cables (which are nicely echoed by the yellow marks on the road) are part of some evil trap is right. Also for me a favourite! Link to comment
