Just an excellent shot and a great angle. As well as the passenger about to have his head lopped off by a passing pole, the engineer in the rear is very well captured.

Superb photograph, exceptional sharpness and contrast. It reminds me of the exceptional quality and "feel" of having been taken with a Leica...The composition is also admirable, quite unusual and situated in a time gone by, like the 50s or 60s....which makes it more complex and richer. As Jack mentions, DOF is very well applied here, and it also suggests it is a steam locomotive with the coal shoveler standing by. The expression of the passenger is priceless, as is this image.
