It just happens that my wife and I celebrated our 49th in early June. So I got a huge kick from this shot. The husband seems rather frazzled and somewhat decrepit (to paraphrase Timo's comment), yet the wife appears to have retained her youthful exuberance and beauty. It seems to me that their anniversary celebration was modest, since there are only a few guests present. And,finally, I appreciate the chuckle which momentarily took me away from the bs happening in the US.

No doubt this was a McRitchie, that we all knew. These guys have become icons of their own at this point. Great humor Jack, I think they even look a little drunk, what's in that Coke. Great image...........................BR, Holger

Hi Jack: Maybe because I am a HUGE Start Treck fan, and not a Star Wars one, I didn't know R2D2 and 3CPO got married, but at least someone was kind enough to let the public know, and a "National Enquirer" photographer equally kind in publishing this grand social occasion....All kidding aside, it is your keen trained eye to spot the quirky side of things and give them meaning and context. A very special take on the ordinary, making it truly outstanding. DG

I like the anthropomorphism of this, a specialty of yours. These look like if you asked them how many kids they have, they would pull out a wallet-full. I like the recognition of the possibilities and bringing them out into view. Nice one.
