frigo 4,155 Posted May 28, 2018 Jack..It was a clear night and I thought it was a good opportunity to try out the ''how-to'' method I found on the NET to phototograph our distant neighbour;this was one relatively sharp shot amongst the many I took with the camera c/w 300mm lense handheld and solidly leaning on the varenda handrail.Salutations-Laurent Link to comment
gregverena 343 Posted May 28, 2018 earthy moon? hmmm- anyway, nice. I've found it really hard to get any clarity hand held, a tripod makes it a lot easier. Have fun! Link to comment
frigo 4,155 Posted May 29, 2018 Greg & Verena,...I almost never shoot manual mode as AF does a much better job than my old eyes to get the focus right;this was one of the better/sharper shots but the spoiled shots because of shake or mis-focus outweighed the ok shots.I do have a tripod but it was nicely put away somewhere in the garage...and besides,it was near/at freezing and I went handheld...I added a little sepia(earth tones?) just to see.Salutations-Laurent Link to comment
gregverena 343 Posted June 1, 2018 Laurent, oh, of course AF, I didn't mean that- but with something that far away, even the slightest movement will be noticed. When you dig out that tri pod, give it a try next time. Link to comment
frigo 4,155 Posted June 1, 2018 Greg &Verena...You are right and the ratio of good shot-vs- spoiled is very low;Iwill dig that tripod out and have it handy for the next good moon.Salutations-Laurent Link to comment
