frigo 4,155 Posted April 30, 2018 Just over 20 years that this bridge has replaced the old cable ferry between the islands.Salutations-Laurent Link to comment
michaellinder 16,611 Posted April 30, 2018 There are three elements I find compelling. First, the image makes me try to guess whether the bridge's actual construction involved the curvature I see. Secondly, the fact that the destination island is hardly visible provides some mystery as well. Thirdly, there is the predominance of cool tones over warm ones. The brilliance of the azure in the sky is the perfect companion to the browns in the piling closest to the foreground and in the foreground rocks and vegetation. Kudos!! - - My best, michael Link to comment
frigo 4,155 Posted May 1, 2018 Michael..Thank you for your thorough look and observation:the bridge is high arched and stretched some by the WA lense.Miscou Island on the other end of the bridge is somewhat screened by the thin fog lifting from the icy waters under a relatively warm sun and the tones are surely enhanced by the polarizer glued on this lense. This bridge and particularly this POV were regulars with me until recently when climbing on the tricky rocky rip-rap has become more demanding on my ''not getting any younger''legs...but the temptation to get lower on the slope for more impressive POVs will have to wait till I get some company ....maybe when you find your way up here one of these days?
