The stirred waters pick up the silty/sandy bottoms and turn to red, contrasting vividly with the all white environment.Salutations-Laurent

The contrast is indeed vivid, Laurent. In all likelihood, scenes - and images - like this don't come along too often. Given the composition and pov, I'm not altogether confident that I have a true sense of scale when it comes to the ice in the foreground. It looks massive. - - My best, michael

Michael..Some of these blocks are pretty big;that piece in the foreground must have been about 10ft x 10ft at the base and at least 10 ft high but nowheres as big as that piece in the waters at the left which was 25 ft by 20 ft at the base and some 15 ft out of the water plus what was in the water, another 3 ft. maybe. The tide in this area at this time of the year is around 5 ft and it takes all of that plus the little extra in the wave action if it's windy to move these big guys out to sea or break them up on shore.Salutations-Laurent
