frigo 4,155 Posted April 4, 2018 Close-up on a piece of stranded ice on the beach with the lighthouse in the distance;I desaturated the beach and oversaturated the ice to highlight the translucent colors.Does this work for you? Thank you-Laurent Link to comment
hstelljes 41 Posted April 5, 2018 Outstanding pov. At first glance I thought a bank of clouds from the thumbnail and how on earth did he accomplish that. Of course the close up explains it but I still love it. Wonderful Laurent.............BR, Holger Link to comment

michaellinder 16,611 Posted April 5, 2018 Laurent, as I stated in connection with a slightly similar image, the oversaturation works perfectly. It furnishes a dramatic contrast with the desaturated areas. I'd prefer to categorize this image as an abstract. Indeed it might more easily be recognized as such if it there weren't the hint of a human presence in the background. Also, I see the diagonal banding in the sky as some sort of radiation nom, barding the planet. Outstanding work! - - My best, michael Link to comment
frigo 4,155 Posted April 6, 2018 Hi Michael...Thank you for the kind appreciation. When I am with this type of image,I hesitate on the choice of category and tend to tag ABSTRACT one which needs an explanation for the viewer.Anyhow,I started thinkering with this one much like the other you mentioned and thought about cloning out the glare spots when the sky was still in color;desaturated, the glare and especially the bullet didn't seem so distracting so I enhanced the glare bandings just to see and kept it.Glad the final image caught your attention.Salutations-Laurent Link to comment
