Very expressive portrait, Laurent! In addition, her eyes have different colors! I like your beautiful series of portraits. Bravo! Sincerely, Tatiana

PS: How do you manage to photograph faces of strangers on the street? I do not dare to do it.

Hi Tatiana...and thank you for viewing and for your appreciation of these portraits which I am digging out of my files.Maybe the different color eyes is from my PP as I had to brighten these shaded under the wide rim on the had.It is difficult to get these type of shots at home as people feel agressed if you come up to them waving a camera, but totally different on foreign soil where you sort of trade curiosities when you meet people;you with the camera are as much intriguing as they might be interesting,so if you are handicapped by a language barrier, you establish contact by sign language/head nod or whatever and as soon as you get some approval....click,but never show disrespect by proceeding if you even feel a discomfort on the part of the subject. All this has to be done quickly as most of the time, these encounters last only a few minutes....but you might be lucky and have people observing just come up and ask to also have their photo taken which you cannot refuse or else have to explain why they might not be interesting enough?Great fun and on top of the images, you walk away with great memories.Salutations-Laurent

Very grateful, Laurent, you shared your experience! I suppose you have a lot of charm and goodwill to take such pictures. Sincerely, Tatiana

I think, it is a big challenge for a photographer to capture such incredible images, like we've seen lately in Laurent's collection.

This one is no exception.

Yes ,Tatiana's right - at first person's permission - which demands some social skills, and sometimes bravery( overall not recommended in some parts of the world, especially bigger cities).

And still the overall result is uncertain...But not in this case,

Excellent work!

Congrats!,

ZT,

Zbigniew...Thank you for the very thoughtful observation and appreciation.Although the majority of these were on first time/only time encounters, some were made easier in instances where it was on a return to the location where I took the opportunity to hand out prints I had made to the persons whom had agreed to the shots.Of course, this led to more volunteers willing to pose for my lense in the hope that there would be prints on the next visit;the only damper to this was that in film era, every shot had to count as the multiple shots/delete function convenience of digital was not available. But it was always a delight as you have surely experienced.Salutations-Laurent
