I like the simplicity of the overall environment. A relatively simple subject...however, elevated to complexity for being able to convey the loneliness of the place, the nice perspective, the coldness in the air, the undefined destination....Very nicely done, especially using BW, in line with good old-school photography. I perfectly understand "purism". Let me explain. With the resources photography now offers, I would have dared to alter the image by eliminating the vertical line from one of the poles, as it distracts me. It in not by any means a critique, but for me, it takes a principal role and splits the image in two planes. I come from the old times of rudimentary, very basic dark room, where corrections were quite difficult. I take the liberty of making this comment since with a simple "retouching" this image would, to me and in my humble opinion, distract me less. Foregoing these comments, I still think this is a wonderful image. DG
