michaellinder 16,613 Posted January 21, 2018 Laurent, the ice glaze proved to be fortuitous! The result is an image with a dazzling painterly effect, which includes a fascinating variety of texture. I also like this perspective on the church, since it becomes the primary subject within tis image. - - Best, michael Link to comment
frigo 4,155 Posted January 22, 2018 Michael...Thank you for the kind observation.Actually, when I now look at the image,I realize that in PP,while I seeked to highlight the different textures,I removed the ice glaze(title) left on the church's siding by a recent storm.I did take the usual 3/4 shots but this side was in direct sun and I think I should have taken a 3/4 shot from the back to get the best of the glaze....next time!Salutations-Laurent Link to comment
michaellinder 16,613 Posted January 23, 2018 I guess I don't really know how to recognize ice glaze. There's none of that in my area! Link to comment
frigo 4,155 Posted January 23, 2018 Michael,...The glaze is still very visible on the ground but my PP removed the good shine from the church siding. Our weather forcast is for another bout of icy rain which should leave some glazing over everything...hopefully not too much especially on powerlines;I'll see if it leaves enough for good photo opportunities. In my working days,I had the opportunity to spend several winters in areas without snow/cold/ice and I envy that you live in such an environment.Salutations-Laurent Link to comment
