gregverena 339 Posted January 18, 2018 my first thought was- ahh- firewood! You must have all sorts of interesting things washing up. Link to comment
frigo 4,155 Posted January 18, 2018 Greg & Verena...Don't rightly know how this piece found its way here amidst the pile up of broken ice sheet. When I was here a few weeks back when the harbour was still open, this section of beach was loaded with driftwood which seem to have disappeared, maybe floated away by a high tide before the freeze.Firewood...no,as this floated wood some of which has been at sea for ages is salt soaked and not good as firewood but handy for bondfires at beach parties...in the summer,of course.Salutations-Laurent Link to comment

krpradu 125 Posted January 22, 2018 nature always gives us different moments to see and who know from where and how long distance this trunk came. For moment all is frozen and no motion, looks like time stop for a while. Link to comment
frigo 4,155 Posted January 23, 2018 Radu,..Time is stopped....until the next storm. This driftwood seems to be two pieces that met at sea;one shows evidence of some time in the water while the other is not so old as there is still some bark and the broken tips are not worn. For the time being,it seems trapped on shore protected by the pile up at the back;I will check on my next trip over.Salutations amicales-Laurent Link to comment
