Wayne Sadler 567 Posted January 13, 2018 This “soft-filmy” treatment of this scene in Santa Croce, Venice in addition to masking identities is my way of imparting that romantic fairy tale feel that envelopes me and maybe others while in Venice. Link to comment

michaellinder 16,611 Posted January 13, 2018 Brilliantly crafted image, Wayne. I can't explain why it works for me, but that may be unimportant. (By the way, I have experimented with what you labeled a "soft-filmy treatment. I'd be grateful if you could share the techniques you used; I'll be happy to do the same.) Link to comment
Wayne Sadler 567 Posted January 13, 2018 Thanks, Michael. I am basically using two filters. Will send more detail in an email. Link to comment
Wayne Sadler 567 Posted January 14, 2018 Michael, seems I don't know how to send a message/start a conversation in photo.net anymore. The system will not allow me to use you as a participant. If you would send me your email at pantha8@bellsouth.net I will outline how I arrive at this effect. Link to comment
Tony Long 28 Posted January 14, 2018 Wayne, for me this is your most excellent work! I like the balance of colour between the sides of the street so that the yellow building stands out. The light on the blinds/awnings leads me to the yellow building and then the blue figures draw me back to start over, hence my attention is held. Beautiful.RegardsTony Link to comment
Wayne Sadler 567 Posted January 14, 2018 Many thanks, Antony. As often the case I did not recognize the merits of this image you observe until I began working on it. It makes us question how much we create art or how much art is given to us. Link to comment
